The IACP is calling on the Government in Budget 2026 to increase investment in counselling and psychotherapy with the ultimate aim of establishing universal access to mental health supports for all people.

We are seeking your help to ensure that counselling and psychotherapy are represented in Budget 2026. Please use the platform to send a customised email to your constituency representatives of the Oireachtas to voice your support for the IACP's 2026 pre-budget submission priorities.

We have drafted a sample letter that you may edit to your liking or feel free to write your own letter.

There is strength in numbers, and with your support, we can work together to ensure that counselling and psychotherapy funding is prioritised in Budget 2026.

The IACP’s Budget 2026 Priorities:

  1. Removal of VAT on counselling and psychotherapy services

  2. Extension of tax relief to counselling and psychotherapy fees

  3. Investment in and expansion of access to school counselling at the primary and secondary levels.
